In 1987, I went to see the Let Me Up show at the OMNI in Atlanta. To this date, one of the best shows I had seen!
Toward the end of the show my date and I decided (ok, I decided) to try and get backstage. It was a "half-house" show which
meant that half the auditorium was closed off by guards and curtains. Well, we found an elevator
that seemed to be behind the stage. So, we got on. There was a lady running the elevator who
didn't ask any questions. We got backstage in time to see The Heartbreakers coming off stage.
The ironic thing is that I was wearing the same thing Tom had worn on stage. White shirt, black vest
and jeans. We got a little closer and Tom actually saw me and said "nice vest" as he ran by.
We couldn't get any closer to the band. They were on their buses and gone. We then ran into some
of the Georgia Satellites. Then a security guard realized we DID NOT have any passes on. I think
he had the hots for my date because he gave us this one! Here are some of my other ticket stubs:
